And Now, A Message From Conor
I’ve noticed a lot of haters in the world and it’s really starting to bring me down. So this year, my friend Nate and I decided to start a team to compete against Team Hate. We argued for a long time about what to call ourselves and eventually settled on Team Love. And since we aren’t much for physical confrontations of any kind, we decided to make Team Love more of a record label instead of a traditional kick-the-ball kind of thing. Luckily, years ago, my friends from Omaha and I started another label called Saddle Creek to release my band Bright Eyes, as well as other great bands. So Nate and I traveled to the Saddle Creek office and said, “Hey dudes! If we start a new label and put out amazing bands like Tilly and the Wall will you have our backs?” They said yes, so me and my neighbor Stevy P (he has a band called Criteria) set about turning his basement into a professional recording studio and worked with Tilly to make their debut album. It sounds so rad! I can’t wait for you to hear it! It’s great pop music that makes you want to laugh and cry and dance and generally jump up and down. you should come to our site (www.team-love.com) and hear them. We plan on having all our music for free on our site all the time, because unlike all those Team Hate record companies, we believe music should be shared. And we’re sure if you like what you hear you’ll support it by buying these records. So, in 2004 look for Tilly’s record, as well as awesome Omaha hip-hop from Riggie and trenscendental folk from Willy Mason. Team Love is going to win this year. I just know it. -Conor Oberst
